The Office of the State Fire Marshal's Division of Public Education offers free smoke alarms to Illinois Fire Departments for installation in homes of those in need. Any Illinois Fire Department can request smoke alarms from the office. A total of six (6) alarms will be sent at a time to requesting departments. The departments are then required to submit a form of placement (below). Once the form is returned, the departments can request another six (6) alarms
